Kevin spoke with the drywall contrctor yesterday, who came out to the house to give an estimate. Hiring the drywall to be done was in the plan from the beginning, and the contractor is scheduled to start in about three weeks. The estimate is that it will take $4500 and about a week to do the job. Now, all I have to do is continue to remind myself that $4500 is not really a bad price, and that we are saving money by building the house ourselves, we are getting more bang for the buck, we are saving money, more bang for the buck, we are saving money.......(If I keep saying it, maybe I'll feel better:).....)

Yeah, I know its money well spent. It still just "feels" like a lot of money:) I am sure I'll have forgotten all about it when its finished and I am that much closer to moving in though:)

Hanging drywall and making all the seams smooth is NOT easy - and it can be very messy/dusty. It is far easier for those who have experience doing it (and know the right techniques). The $4500 is money well spent.
